 Show Theme

This year's show theme marks the 230th anniversary of the Tybee Island Lighthouse on the coast of Georgia near Savannah. The brick base of that original structure is incorporated into the present tower, which was restored in 1999.

On June 13, 2003, the U.S. Postal Service released a set of five lighthouses along the coast of the Southeast from Florida to Virginia. First day of issue ceremonies for all five stamps were held at the Tybee Island Lighthouse, and this year's Peach State Stamp Show will honor Georgia's oldest lighthouse.

 Lighthouse Souvenir Covers

The Georgia Federation of Stamp Clubs is offering a special souvenir cover to mark the release of the Tybee Island Lighthouse stamp. The cover's cachet is in blue and black and shows the lighthouse along with the Tybee Lighthouse postmarked on the first day of issue with a special USPS pictoral cancel.

This cover will be available at Peach State Stamp Show, or it can be purchased now by mail. The price is $2.50 per cover, plus a SASE. To purchase by mail, send a check made payable to Peach State Stamp Show to Bob Lieb, 1040 Mount McKinley Drive,
Grayson GA 30017.

Fewer than 50 complete sets of the five different lighthouse stamps on the cacheted cover were prepared. These are available for $10 per set (and a SASE).

 Door Prizes

A drawing will be held Saturday and Sunday for two official programs for the first day of issue ceremony for the five lighthouse stamps. One of the programs has been autographed by all the dignitaries participating in the ceremony, including famous stamp artist Howard Koslow. You do not have to be present to win.

 Youth Activities

An adult-supervised youth area will be open after school on Friday, and all day on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be fun galore, with activities to not only keep kids busy but also to provide an introduction to the hobby of stamp collecting.

 Admission and Parking

Admission to the show is free. Plenty of free parking is available at the Civic Center's parking lot.
